The Revelation to St John has perplexed generations of Christians with its wild imagery and warfare. Fanatics have imposed strange interpretations on it from early times, so that it almost failed to be included in the canon of Scripture. However an examination of its structure reveals a central theme that is valid for all time.
Fr Kelley brings Roman and Jewish history, liturgy, and archeology to bear on the text for an illuminating study. The Jewish rite of Passover is clearly a model that undergirds St John’s vision.
